b. Invited drivers who are guests of the league.
c. Previous SUPRS Point Champions, race winners or members.
d. Drivers who are able to show proof of prior online racing experience.
2. All Silver members are NOT eligible for any awards or prizes.
Exception :
a. Silver drivers who have upgraded their membership to Gold level but have not satisfied racing requirements join the Gold Division full-time.
3. All Silver members will remain in Silver Division indefinitely.
Exceptions:
a. A driver that wins the Silver Division Championship is REQUIRED to upgrade their membership Gold and be promoted to the Gold Division upon passing a rookie test.
b. At the sole descretion of SUPRS officials; A driver may be be asked to move up to the Gold Division after demonstrating that he/she is a capable driver after one complete Silver Division Season. When asked the driver will then be required to take a rookie test to verify driver ability. Furthermore, if a driver is not asked to move up the Gold Division, It is understood that the driver will remain in the Silver Division until such time SUPRS Officials feel he/she is ready for such a move.
c. If a member misses 5 races in a row, SUPRS will consider that person uninterested in continuing their league membership and will be dropped from the league unless otherwise notified and their registered car number will be added back into the pool for others to use.
4. Rookie Test. It is in keeping with the goal of having the best drivers in the best cars in the best league that we require a Silver Division driver who is ready to become a Gold Division Member to pass a rookie driver’s test. This test will include but is not limited to the rookie driver running a set amount of laps at certain tracks on the schedule while under observation by the League Director, Assistant League Director, Membership Director, and Race Director. He/she may also be required to show that they are capable of passing other competitors cleanly, racing in close quarters without or with very little touching, and must demonstrate that they are capable of sustained consistent lap times. If a driver fails to pass the rookie test he/she will still be able to race with SUPRS but will continue to be required to race in the Silver Crest Division until he/she is able to pass the test or it is decided that he/she is not a threat to competitive racing by other members. Rookie driver tests will be given on Sunday’s after scheduled practice and must be pre-arranged 24 hours prior to taking the test. THERE WILL BE NO ROOKIE TESTS LESS THAN 24 HOURS PRIOR TO ANY SCHEDULED RACE MEET.
5. Membership donation is due annually from the time it was previously sent.
6. Silver members are not permitted to practice on Gold race nights.
Exception:
a. Pro-Am events.
II. Gold Division:
1. We believe that SUPRS is the most unique and exciting online racing league going and we also believe that to drive “The Ultimate Online Sim Race Car” you have to be one of the best sim racers there is. Our cars are open wheel and take a good amount of skill to drive fast smoothly. It is in keeping with the goal of having the best drivers in the best cars in the best league. The Gold Division represents SUPRS' finest pilots.
2. All Gold Division Drivers will remain in the Gold Division indefinitely and are not eligible for any Silver Division races.
Exceptions:
a. A Gold driver is demoted for infractions deemed necessary by SUPRS League Officials.
b. If a member misses 5 races in a row, SUPRS will consider that person uninterested in continuing their league membership and will be dropped from the league unless otherwise notified and their registered car number will be added back into the pool for others to use. Driver will be placed on the "Inactive" roster until such time his/her membership expires.
3. All Gold Division Drivers are eligible for any advertised prizes, gift, or trophies.
4. Membership donation is due annually from the time it was previously sent.
III. Conduct:
1. No Foul language directed toward your fellow driver will not be tolerated. If you have issues with someone in particular we ask that you act like an adult and take it up with the other driver in a professional manner, FOLLOWING THE NIGHT'S EVENTS. If either feel that you cannot fix your differences between yourselves feel free to talk to a SUPRS official. We ask that you take into consideration the fact that the internet has inherent problems and your fellow driver may not be seeing the same thing on his screen as you are yours at the same time as you. Our league has members spread out across this great land of ours and because of that we will always experience lag and warp issues. We will do our utmost to alleviate as many problems as we can but we can not control each individual’s computer configuration, internet connection, or driving style. Rest assured that we will watch closely all language and actions directed toward fellow drivers and/or the league that are deemed a detriment to the league and those actions will be dealt with in a fair but strict manner as determined appropriate by the league director.
2. No Swearing in the Race Server or Teamspeak. A little good natured ribbing is ok and we understand that as long as it doesn’t get out of control. If you cannot follow this rule you will be asked to leave.
Penalties:
1st offense-Five race probation.
2nd offense-probation for remainder of season.
3rd offense-driver will be banned from SUPRS competition for remainder of season
3. There shall be no talking during the racing action. No chatting through the chat feature while on the track, no exceptions. The only text showing in the race server at any time shall be that of the Race Director and/or League Director.
Penalty:
a. Failure to abide by this rule will result in immediate expulsion from the race server as well as the Team Speak server for the remainder of the evenings events.
4. All typing in the race server lobby as well as team speak server shall stop when a league director types 123.
5. There shall be no chatter in the race server lobby until a race director returns to the lobby post race.
6. It is the duty of ALL SUPRS members to protect the integrity of the league, it's members, it's files and it's servers. Any member found to be willingly sharing SUPRS files, forming another league using SUPRS files, or otherwise conducting business that is detrimental or in direct conflict with SUPRS and/or it's Mission Statement and/or Goals without prior expressed consent will be PERMANTELY BANNED from the league.
7. Any member found to be spreading viruses, worms, trojans, or any other computer maladies to other members or using SUPRS to do so otherwise to the general internet population, intentionally will be banned from further SUPRS competition for life. Furthermore if it is determined that a member is unintentionally infecting other members they will be banned until it can be determined that their computer and system is clean.
IV. Racemanship
1. No Rough, Retalitory, or Excessive driving will be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, intentionally using your mirror, to block another driver, ‘chopping’ or cutting another driver off at any point on the track, veering recklessly into or in front of another driver, going backwards on the track, or at any time intentionally wrecking or putting another driver into the wall. If a the Race Director feels that a driver is guilty of excessive banging, cutting, chopping or other forms of driving that he deems detrimental to another driver or the event; he shall have the obligation and option to call a 'black flag'. A driver receiving the 'black flag' shall have his number displayed in the lower right hand corner of the race server. At that point he is expected to 'lay over' and allow the driver that he has gained position on to move back by. The penalized driver may then resume racing.
Penalties:
a. Realizing that there will be times when a driver has lost multiple positions because of an infraction by another driver; The Race Director shall use his best judgement as to how waiting for a driver to heed the black flag before calling clear will effect the racing action by other drivers. Any driver causing an infraction should realize that he may lose up to two finishing positions, face loss of points, probation or suspension.
2. DO NOT RACE WITH THE LEADERS. The Race Director shall call lapped cars to 'lay over' for the leaders by typing the number of the driver which will appear in the lower right hand side of the racing screen, to the best of his ability, with plenty of advance notice. He shall call the 'lay over' up to three times. The driver being called to layover will not advance a position while getting the layover call. The race director shall warn any driver advancing while getting the layover and the driver shall have one lap to drop back to his original position.
Penalties:
a. If at that time the driver who is being called has refused to move after 3 calls for the leaders, the race director has the right to boot the driver from the race server and he shall be scored in last position.
3. SUPRS pays points to the driver not the car. Any driver who is found to be posing as another driver on race night will have 50 championship points deducted from his total and 3 race suspension will be levied. This will apply for both drivers.
4. There shall be NO stopping on the race track at anytime or anyplace during any competition. Drivers are expected to either drive to the pit area or off of the racing surface at a safe distance (i.e. the infield area), and remain there. Drivers that cannot ahere to this rule will be immediately booted from the server without warning and face a possible one race suspension.
5. There shall be no passing below the established line on inside of turns. If more than 1/3 of the left side of car is deemed below line or on infield and the driver advances position, the Race Director shall call the infraction and the driver shall drop back to his original position according to the terms laid out under "Passing Flag". Passing by ramming or forcably moving another driver below the line is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
V. Race Director(s)
1. The Race Director shall be responsible for calling all infractions and/or penalties during racing action and throughout the race event.
2. The Race Director's rulings shall be the final say and are not up for discussion during or after the event in our forums.
3. If disputed, there will be a review following the night's events and the driver will have the option of filing a protest if they feel they have been treated unfairly. Members unwilling or unable to abide by this rule will be booted from servers and will face a one race suspension.
VI. Protests, Disqualifications, Probation
1. Criteria & Method of Filing Protest-There may be times throughout the course of the season that a driver feels as though he has been wronged by another competitor. If this happens he may file a protest. We ask that drivers keep in mind the limitations of the game, the server, internet service connections, individual computer configurations, etc. before coming to the conclusion that a protest needs to be filed to right a wrong. If a driver still chooses to file a protest, It must be sent within 24 hours of the race and must have saved his replay and sent it to suprseries@yahoo.com, file a formal request in a professional manner with the League and/or Race Director after the completion of the racing events with the details of the alleged infraction. It must be said that simply filing a protest in order to gain a position or slander another driver will not be tolerated. If at anytime the League Director, Competition Director, or review board feels that the Protest is frivolous it will be thrown and the driver originating the protest may be reprimanded accordingly.
2. Protest Review and Ruling-There will be no less than THREE (3) SUPRS members to review each replay and protest. This will include but is not limited to the League Director, Competition Director, Membership Coordinator, and/or another driver who was uninvolved in the incident. The review board will compare the plaintiffs replay to that from the server using their most unbiased and fair judgment. A ruling will be made within three days after the protest is filed and will be final. It should be said that just because a protest is filed it DOES NOT mean that the judgment will always go against the defendant. We will give the defendant an opportunity to defend the protest and that defense will be taken into consideration before the ruling is made. The 3 member SUPRS panel will remain anonymous to protect them from reprisal.
3. Disqualification/Penalties-If a protest is ruled valid; the defendant in the protest may lose finishing positions, race points, championship points, and prizes, be placed on probation, disqualified from the race, or banned from the league. These penalties will be determined by the review committee and based on the severity of the infraction and the frequency of protests being filed against the defendant. There may be other instances where the League feels that it is the best for good competition to penalize or disqualify a driver based on his conduct on and/or off the track concerning the League and/or other drivers.
4. Probation-If a driver is placed on probation for continued rules and/or policy violations, and/or protest rulings, the League has the obligation and responsibility to all members to set fair criteria and length of probation based on individual cases. Once a driver is placed on probation, he will not be eligible for any awards or prizes until the probation is lifted. If he fails to follow the terms and conditions of the probation, the driver will then be banned from the league and will not be eligible to participate in any further SUPRS sanctioned events until further notice.
5. Results -All decisions made on protests are final and not subject to debate.
VII. Connections to Server-
1. Dial Up-Dial up users are welcome to race anytime, but we ask that you end as many programs as possible that run in your background, and run nothing but your race game while in the server. Due to some slower dial up connections, users may cause or experience warp. In the event that you do cause warp, you will be given a chance to fix your connection, if the problem persists, you will have to try for the next week. It’s not that we don’t welcome you to race with us; it’s just a courtesy to the other racers
2. Warp-There are many things that cause warp or lag. We will do our part on our end, but we ask that each driver do their best to make sure they have their system in top notch condition when they come to race. If you need help tweaking your system out we have several links on our website that can do that and we encourage you to ask questions and seek answers from any of our members.
3. WE WILL NOT RESTART RACES BECAUSE OF LAG, WARP, or BEING BOOTED, (unless it is the host). It is up to you to have your computer and connection optimized for the best online racing experience you can have.
4. Server Crashes-If, during the course of the night’s events the server crashes, and if less than half of the advertised race distance had been completed, the race will be postponed to be rescheduled at the earliest possible date. The rescheduled race will use a random start and the race distance will be set as close to possible to the amount of laps previously completed. If, during the course of the night’s events the server crashes, and if half or more of the advertised race distance has been completed, the race will be considered a rainout and the running order at the time of the server crash will be locked and considered official.
5. Variations to Race Format Due to Warp-There may be times, when because of warp, the race format will be changed and the advertised amount of cars for the feature starting field will be reduced in order to help alleviate the warp. Be prepared that you may have to race your way into the feature field. While we hate to turn anyone away sometimes, just like in real racing, you end up loading it on the trailer and coming back next week.
VIII. Patches, Updates & Heat Files
1. All Racers must be on the 1.80 patch. If you show up in to the server, and we get that annoying message (xxxxx may be cheating), you will be asked to fix the problem accordingly.
2. All drivers are required to check the website for regular updates to track paks, mod updates, schedule updates as well as updates to car files for existing members as well and new members. All new required files will be uploaded to the website no later than midnight eastern the night before a race.
3. Any driver who is found using and/or altering any Heat/Mod files other than those specified by the league will not be allowed to race until the situation is corrected and could face disciplinary actions including but not limited to, a verbal warning, loss of position, loss of points, suspension, and disqualification from that race and possibly more races depending on severity of infraction.
a. In policing this rule, SUPRS Officials reserve the right to perform a "tech inspection" of any member's computers via TEAMVIEWER Software. Therefore all members are required to have Teamviewer installed and ready. The driver may be asked to accomplish this during the course of any race event. The driver once notified will have exactly 3 minutes to allow officials access to their computer for possible file transfer. The driver chosen for "tech" are at the sole discretion of SUPRS Officials.
IX. Drivers Meetings-
1. All Racers must have the specified voice chat program. This may be TeamSpeak or Ventrillo. We will run all line ups, server lineup's, drivers meeting, etc off of that program. All SUPRS competitors, (Silver and Gold). must have a working mic to compete in a SUPRS Sanctioned race event. Mic checks will be performed at the beginning of the drivers meeting and end of the drivers meeting. Drivers who fail to have a working mic will not be eligible to race. This is being done to help move the show along and to get better interviews. It should also prevent drivers from posing as other drivers. Post race interviews for the top 3 finishers is mandatory. You don't go out on the track without your helmet on so don't come to race online without the proper functioning equipment.
2. We will have a drivers meeting prior to starting the evening’s racing events. This will be held according to the times on the schedule and is mandatory. If you miss the driver’s meeting you will lose your 5 points for showing up. Please be considerate and be on time so that we can get the racing started as soon as possible. We will also meet after the race for a brief time to discuss the evening and allow the racers to air ideas, comments, or complaints.
3. If you have a complaint, suggestion, or question, this is a good time to talk to a race director or league director if it is race related, be sure to have a race replay, and a brief description of the complaint.
X. Race Format- Winged Supers -Gold Division
1. Race Server is closed as advertised on the schedule. Race Practice will not commence until a SUPRS Race official is in the server. 2 Race Suspension will be the penalty for those who are practicing in the server during the restricted time.
2. Time Trials-All drivers in attendance are required to make a Time Trial attempt.
If more than 20 drivers show at a race event, Time Trials will be divided into two sessions to assure that each driver is able to connect to the server, (as the Heat server only allows up to 24 connections at a time). These sessions will be determined by current point standings. I.E. top 10 in SUPRS Championship points would be in the first session, etc.
After Time Trials are completed, drivers are required to remain in the race server. At that time the Race Director will go through the race server to record times. When their qualifying position is called, drivers shall enter-their registered racing number, time and position in that order. No exceptions. This will aid the Race Director in keeping the show moving along quickly. There shall be no other public chat in the server while this process is completed.
If a driver loses their server connection while time trialing or the game crashes, SUPRS reserves the right to allow that driver to make one final attempt at a time trial run. That driver will remain out of the race server while the qualifying order is being taken by the Race Director. At the completion of the qualifying rundown, the driver will be allowed back into the server along with the race director and League Directors to make his attempt, at which time he will then give his qualifying run to the Race Director and will be added to the field.
If a driver fails to make a time trial attempt a second time or for any reason, he will be added to the end of the starting lineup for heat races.
The “Elite 8” (eight fastest qualifiers), shall be ‘locked’ into the feature event and will be handicapped for the feature event based on the points won system. All other time trialed cars shall be required to run heat races.
3. Heat Races- Heat races starting order will be determined by Time Trials. Drives will start Heat races based on a combination of the “Points Won” handicap system and from Time Trials. Heat races may be used to transfer cars into the feature event based upon total entries for a specific race.
If there are more than 12 cars for the evening's racing events, we will use a two heat race format.
When there are 25 or more cars signed in to race we will go to a three heat race system.
The cars will be lined up the same way as normal based on Time Trials.
The first and/or second heat will always have the most cars in them-I.E. 26 cars=2 nine car heats and 1 eight car heat.
At least half of the heat race starting field will transfer to the feature and the heats with more cars will transfer more cars. Using the example above for 26-heats one and two would transfer 5 cars to the feature with heat three transferring 4 cars to the feature.
Those cars NOT transferring out of the heats will go to the B-Main and will fill the feature field. Again using the example above for 26 cars; Heat transfers=14 cars locked in. 20 car feature field minus 14 heat race transfers=6 cars from the B-Main to fill the feature field. There are NO points for the B Main.
Generally heat races will be lined up so that the faster time trailers or those with a higher handicap will start further back in the heat race.
4. Feature Starting Field-At current, SUPRS believes that a feature starting field of 20 cars is best for great online racing. There may be instances where due to warp, track size or discretion of League Director the feature field will be shortened accordingly. We will do our utmost to ensure that all drivers have an opportunity to race when they join us and will always try to keep everyone on one server. However there may be instances where some drivers will not qualify to run the A-Feature. Feature fields may be lined up and filled using time trials, heat races, points or a combination of all. This is up to the discretion of the race director and can vary based on advertised race format.
5. B-Main- There may be times when a B-Main will be needed or will be used to thin the field down for the feature. Generally, when there are 30 cars or more present the top 6 drivers in Time Trials will be locked into the feature and will not run heats. These cars will be inverted based on Fast Dash. The remaining cars will use heats to transfer the top 4-6 cars out of each heat. The remaining cars will then run an 8 lap last chance B Main with the top two transferring to the feature. There will be no points awarded for the Heats or B-Main under these circumstances. Those not making the 20 car cut will be done for the night.
6. Start of Race/Restarts- There will be NO restarts during practice. The League Director or someone appointed by the League Director will use their best judgment in regards to restarts at all other times during competition. There will be no more than one restart per heat race and two restarts per feature TOTAL under this rule.
7. SUPRS Option-At each event there will be at least one “option” car. If a driver fails to make it out of the heat race and he is eligible for the SUPRS Option, he may use it and start at the tail of those cars that have transferred from the heats and ahead of the B-Main finishers. There will then be one less car taken from the B-Main, (or heats if no B-Main needed). The option car will be determined by current point standings, top to bottom, and be rotated. Once a driver uses his Option, he will go the bottom of the list of eligible drivers and can not use it again until he rotates back to the top. If a driver chooses not to use his option he will be placed back in the rotation but behind the next two drivers that were eligible for the option at the race he refused it. All drivers eligible for the SUPRS Option must compete in heat races to be eligible to take their option. A driver may NOT ‘bump’ out another driver who is higher than him in Championship Points by using his option.
8. Promoters Option-In order to promote the League, SUPRS reserves the right to add up to one 'promoters option' car. This may include, real drivers, guests of the League, or drivers who the Race Director, or League Directors feel, that through no fault of their own, were unable to qualify for the Feature event.
XI. Race Format - Non Wing Supers -Gold Division
1. Race Server is closed as advertised on the schedule. Race Practice will not commence until a SUPRS Race official is in the server. 2 Race Suspension will be the penalty for those who are practicing in the server during the restricted time.
2. Heat Races-
If there are more than 12 cars for the evening's racing events, we will use a two heat race format.
When there are more than 25 cars entered for an event SUPRS will go to a three heat race system.
Heat race starting order will be determined by the “points won” system. Based on race point totals at previous events, drivers will be lined up with high point cars starting at the tail of the heats and low point cars at the front. Drivers who fail to make a show will be credited with first place points in both the heat and feature for this purpose. SUPRS will take a total of the previous three races to determine point total in order to set heat lineups. THERE WILL BE NO TIME TRIALS IN REGULAR NON WINGED EVENTS. Heat races may be used to transfer cars into the feature event based upon total entries for a specific race.
Generally speaking, those drivers finishing in the top half of the heat race field will receive their handicap for the feature with all other drivers starting straight up from their heat race finish. The exact amount of cars that are eligible for their handicap will be announced by the Race Director on a race to race basis, taking into consideration car count and event.
The “Elite 8” (top four finishers from two heats or top three finishers from three heats), will be handicapped for the feature event based on the points won system. All other cars transferring from the heat races shall start straight up from their heat race finish.
5. Start of Race/Restarts- There will be NO restarts during practice. The League Director or someone appointed by the League Director will use their best judgment in regards to restarts at all other times during competition. There will be no more than one restart per heat race and two restarts per feature TOTAL under this rule.
6. SUPRS Option-At each event there will be at least one “option” car. If a driver fails to make it out of the heat race and he is eligible for the SUPRS Option, he may use it and start at the tail of those cars that have transferred from the heats and ahead of the B-Main finishers.
